1st CAS Interview

Dear students,

Just an important clarification: It is very important to keep an archive of your process so, everytime you meet your advisor please, include a note on managebac summarizing the ideas you discuss with him/her. It doesn't need to be too long, it can be one line or some bullet points.
You can choose even if to write or if to upload an audio file!

International vegan cooking

Dear CAS students,

I think you can be interested in this place: La bottega di Silvia They sell bulk products in order to reduce the use of plastic but also to be able to buy only what you need. All are organic products.
Well, next Monday (24th) from 7:00 pm they organize a vegan course very special because they will readapt international recipes from all over the world to a vegan prospective. There will be also space for testing! Is a workshop of 5 meetings (35 Euro each) but if you do the 5 you will pay 30 Euro each. This Monday they will work with Morocco food!
I think this can be a great opportunity for a project or a experience. For more info or booking you can contact "La bottega di Silvia"

Great opportunity for this weekend!!!

At Modena this weekend it will be possible to try addapted sports. The day (Sunday the 23rd) is organized by the Paralympic commitee.

 PS: Last year a student, after a day like that decided to organize a lesson to PYP students with the help of Mr Francesco. it was a great CAS experience that can be improved: An event maybe??

Some ideas and/or opportunities for CAS experiences

Hi!

This can be useful for both grade 11 and 12. You will find some ideas, courses, workshops... Maybe you are interested in one of those or maybe, by reading or attending you can develop your on experience or project. Remind that for the project the first step of the five is "investigation" in wich you should "Identify your interests, skills and talents to be used in considering opportunities for CAS experiences, as well as areas for personal growth and development. Students investigate what they want to do and determine the purpose for their CAS experience. In the case of service, students identify a need they want to address".

In some of the workshop is written that you have to enroll before the 15th of September, but I would try if I were you (That happens this weekend!!!). Again, everything is in Italian but can be a good opportunity to go with a Italian mate!

Something is being born?

Hello hello! Good news today:

With grade 11 we are thinking to create a movie club that will take place one Wednesday a month after school. The idea is that grade 11 students will propose a movie that they consider it can be important to reflect about and they will introduce it the first 15-20 minutes of the meeting, after watching the movie together, we will have time for debate.

Some ideas for your CAS project

Here an idea for a CAS project. This student has combined his passion with one of the strads, creativity. This idea can be also developed by creating a blog or making an exposition for example!
And it can be used for other purpose like advocacy for a cause for instance! Think about international world days, could you create something like that?

Some projects go far

Ilan and Melania worked with a group of teenagers that were living at the Centro Mattei. The idea was to hang out together and to make a linguistic exchange with this guys that were living a difficult situation in our country as refugees. But was more than that, I will leave them to explain in this article that was published in "Zacrepublic!" a small magazine made by the Cooperative Arca di Noe to remind us that "asylum seekers and refugees are person and not numbers". Dear Grade 12 Students and advisors,

Since your presentation is the First of March I just wanted to remind you about it. Here the e-mail I sent to you the 12th of December 2017:

Dear Grade 12 students and advisors, 

We are arriving to the end of our CAS programm. You have to submit your portfolio finished at the end of December (before the holidays). At this point, I would suggest you to work on your final presentation. The first of March (Thursday period 5) we will celebrate CAS by showing to Grade 10 and 11 your work. For this, you have to prepare a presentation that can be a power point, a video or a poster. This activity is compulsory and it will close CAS.

I am telling you now to have time enough to get ready. So, first of all check your portfolio (blog, diary entrance, Managebac, number of interviews...) and "clean it". After that, choose one experience for one of the strands AND the project.

In your presentation you will introduce you have to explain:

Why did I decide to start this experience/project?

In what way do I think I reached the learning outcomes I said I will?

What problems did I find during the process and how did I solve it?

Do I think it was successful and why?
