Grade 11, nervous about your first interview? Here some notes:

During the interview:

The purpose of the interview is to ensure the basics of CAS "nuts and bolts" are met but MOSTLY it is to encourage real reflection.

Be prepared to talk about WHY you have chosen the experiences you are doing for CAS and how you think these experiences will help you meet your personal goals and the CAS learning outcomes. As the programme continues, you can modify your personal goals to show progress and learning from your experiences.

The interview should be a fun and interesting discussion and positive experience where you learn a bit more about yourself, not simply a box-ticking session.

HERE SOME INTERESTING QUESTIONS YOU CAN USE (BOTH, ADVISOR AND STUDENT):

After the interview
  • You may also choose to write some notes developing from the discussion you have had with your CAS advisor and change some of your goals. Remember, CAS is a work in progress - it is GOOD to show how your ideas change and when. You should not expect to think the same things at the start of year 12 as you will at the end of year 13 and CAS is a great opportunity to document this journey.
  • Make any corrections or updates needed to your CAS portfolio.
  • Carry out any tasks suggested during the interview - starting a service project out of school or work on LO 3, for example.
